Narasimpally School Launched - July 2005
For a village of around 4000 residents in Anantpur district, Andhra Pradesh considered the most backward district in the state and in all of India (even by Indian standards). Our affiliated local NGO, Rural Development Foundation, has taken the initiative to start a primary school and has enrolled over a hundred students which will be upgraded to a full fledged secondary school. The local community donated the land where the school is being constructed in the mean time the school is operating out of a rented premesis.
The school provides uniforms to remove caste and class barriers, as well as midday meals. This village is from an area that is considered to be backward by Indian standards. The school has Kindergarten (KG) through Grade 4.
